Pioneer Bridle Trail #795

What an incredible day for a walk in the woods! With the new snow line from the latest Spring storm just above us, and the Bear grass and Rhodys popping, we stepped off with 5 volunteers to clear the approx. 4 miles of lower Pioneer Bridle Trail.

Most of the day was spent clearing drainages and removing natural dams formed from the high levels of runoff making it onto the trail tread. Additionally, we brushed back the trail corridor, and removed the last few small trees blocking the trail.

BE ADVISED: There is one large tree remaining across the trail just west of Rd 32, that we'll need to go back and clear with our sawyers. The tree is broken at the edge of the trail corridor, and has developed a walk-around. We'll update here when it's cleared.

REMINDER: Upper Pioneer Bridle is still 'closed' for damage. If you're looking to get out and ride the trail right now, your best bet is to pedal up Kiwanis Camp Rd and drop in from the tunnel.

Except for that one tree, the trail is running great! We'll be addressing a few additional issues later this Spring/Summer, so be on the lookout for another work day soon!
