We took out a small crew and hit upper Pioneer Bridle Trail hard with the hand saws this weekend, clearing the remaining logs, and most of the heavier debris. She's running great from the tunnel down, but above the tunnel is another story...
The roughly quarter to half a mile section above the tunnel, where the utility ditch washed out, is still unrideable, and bike travel is not advised. The latest update from the USFS is that PGE has repairs scheduled to begin on June 1, 2026.
Hot Tip: If you're looking to get out and ride the trail right now, your best bet is to pedal up Kiwanis Camp Rd and drop in from the tunnel.
There's still plenty of cleanup and drainage work to be done on upper (tunnel down for now) and lower Bridle trails, so we're putting together a volunteer workday on Sunday, May 17th. We'll post details and a signup form soon, so stay tuned.
We also cleared 8-10 logs from the last couple hundred meters of Timberline to Town Trail #756, but stopped when we hit logs big enough that we'll need to bring in chainsaws.
