### Pioneer Bridle Trail #795

With fall rains kicking in, last week was the perfect time to get out and do some needed work on Pioneer Bridle Trail, in preparation for winter.

We had a total of 6 volunteers and staff show up and put in a cumulative 30 hours of solid drainage and tread repair work, on approx one (1) mile of trail just below the Glacier View TH.

With drainage running directly adjacent to and across the trail in this zone, erosion control was the focus of the day. To ensure proper water dispersion, we cleared from the corridor ditch, strengthened up water bars, re-opened existing drains, and cut a couple of new ones.

Another area of focus was the large, permanent mud pit, that developed over the years, about 100 yards further down the trail. This spot has continued to get deeper, and would need major ground work to open up a feasible drain. We decided in the interest of rideability, we'd utilize some of the downfall laying around to 'boardwalk' it. Luckily, our sawyers were on hand, and (of course) had no issues with the extra work!

We were super pleased with the results...rides like it's not even there, and best of all, no more slopping through black sludge!

That's it till Spring, we'll post when we have a schedule of work days, or perhaps a member meetup later this Fall/Winter.
